Cashback (2004) (SHORTFILM) ENGLISH mp4 for Sony PSP

Ben Willis is an art student who works the night shift several times a week at the Whitechapel Sainsbury's. He's clear about the arrangement: he trades his time for money - cashback, as he calls it. We meet his co-workers, Sharon, Barry, and Matt, and their supervisor, Jenkins. Ben's colleagues are good at wasting time, but Ben talks to us about how he makes his shift go faster: by imagining that time has stopped. We see this late-night world of drudgery through Ben's eyes, as time does indeed stop, and he can get out his sketch book.

Der junge Kunststudent Ben (Sean Biggerstaff) leidet an Schlaflosigkeit und verbringt seine Nächte daher im Supermarkt und arbeitet. Die monotone Arbeit und die schrägen Mitarbeiter sorgen für eine entspannte Arbeitsatmosphäre, doch Ben hat eine außergewöhnliche Fähigkeit: Er kann die Zeit anhalten und jeden Abend zeichnet er Nacktbilder von den hübschen jungen Frauen im Supermarkt – ohne das diese davon etwas mitkriegen…

TRIVIA:
- The short film was filmed over four nights in Sainsbury's Whitechapel branch in London. The crew filmed while the store was closed from 10pm - 6am.
- There was no CGI used in the short and all the effects are in camera effects.
- The feature length version which includes the original short within its running time was already complete when it was announced that the short had been nominated for an Oscar.
